Conducting Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre, London
Disney and Cameron Mackintosh Production

Isaac is a passionate, experienced, and ambitious Musical Director working in Musical Theatre both in the UK and internationally. He is dedicated to making Musical Theatre the very best it can be.

Whether that’s through sensitive accompaniment of the action on stage, crafting a section of additional music, or guiding a performer in creating the best performance they can give. He always strives for the very best quality of musicianship and his infectious enthusiasm permeates through a company.

Isaac trained classically at two of the world's best musical institutions; Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, and The Royal College of Music, London. As well as piano and conducting Isaac also trained as an orchestral bassoonist which has given him a unique insight into the workings of an orchestra and what is required from a conductor. This training has facilitated Isaac with a skill set that allows him to promote and encourage music-making at the highest of levels.

Isaac is currently Musical Director for the world premier stage adaption of The Artist adapted by Lindsey Ferrentino and Drew McOnie. The show features original music by Simon Hale. Prior to that Isaac was Associate Musical Director for Old Friends at the Gielgud Theatre where he worked with and conducted an All-Star cast including Bernadette Peters, Lea Salonga, Bonnie Langford, Joanna Riding and Janie Dee. The celebration of Stephen Sondheim’s work was directed by Sir Matthew Bourne side-by-side with industry legend Julia Mckenzie..

Isaac Musically Supervised the West End Concert Revival of The Witches of Eastwick, directed by original ‘Sukie’ Maria Friedman. Isaac worked closely with composer Dana P. Rowe to mount the concert production, conducting a 14 piece orchestra and an All-Star cast including Carrie Hope Fletcher, Laura Pitt-Pullford, Natasha Barnes and Claire Moore.

He was Assistant Musical Director of Mary Poppins at the Prince Edward Theatre. Where he was part of the original creative team helping to mount the revival at the Prince Edward Theatre in 2019. On top of regularly conducting the show, his role at Mary Poppins required him to display and maintain a high level of pianism as the show is one of the most demanding piano scores in the repertoire.

Isaac thrives under pressure, as is shown through his experience conducting some of the world’s biggest musicals including Mary Poppins, Miss Saigon, and Sunset Boulevard. Similarly, he has had the pleasure of working with some of the world's biggest names in Musical Theatre including composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Isaac worked alongside Stephen in co-producing ‘Working: A Musical (Original London Cast Album)’ at Abbey Road Studios. Other notable artists Isaac has worked with include Cynthia Erivo, Petula Clarke, Frances Rufelle, Zizi Strallen, Charlie Stemp, Danny Mac, Jason Pennycooke, and Gavin Lee.

Isaac loves to nurture and encourage young talent. He teaches regularly at Arts Educational, and has been an associate tutor at Guildford School of Acting, Performance Preparation Academy and Sylvia Young Theatre School as well as running his own private Singing Studio.
